Oakwood Youth Soccer Programs
Each week the club has 100's of children playing soccer from the age of 3.5 to 18 years old. The club has soccer programs for boys and girls beginning with soccer clinics for pre-schoolers (3.5 - 6.5 year-olds) and for the recreational player who wants to improve their skills up to the age of 16 .
We offer winter indoor leagues for girls and boys teams from U8 through to U19. These teams are formed independently of the club and are recreational. Just register your team and we will create a league of teams for the appropriate age group.
There is the Youth Training League (YTL) for boys and girls. Aimed at 7 and 8 year-olds who enjoy soccer, this league continues to build soccer skills. After this age, the children can try out for Oakwood Soccer Club premier teams.
We offer boys and girls premier travel soccer for U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18 ages and an academy for teen boys who have the skills to play at a very high level.
The academy is a US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) for boys. The academy is designed for the serious player who is interested in playing at the collegiate, professional or even national level. The season is a ten month season, beginning with pre-season in late August, season weekend games in the fall from September to November and spring games from March to late June, with playoffs for the region and national finals in June/July. Training practices are three- four times a week with fitness programs for non-training days, to ensure peak performance throughout the season. In the winter, from Thanksgiving through the end of February, the boys will train indoors at OSC, 2-3 nights per week plus fitness training. Games or training are organized for the weekend. This indoor training prepares them well for the spring season ahead. The academy falls into the league's Northeast region, playing against teams from Washington DC/Baltimore to Montreal and Boston. A national coach scouts at each league game and boys can be invited to market training and national camps. Learn more about trying out and the academy here.
