Extending the "Oakwood Years"
As a continued effort to provide the best opportunities and competitive platform to its members, Oakwood Soccer Club is pleased to announce the launching of our U23 Academy Team. This program will foster a highly competitive environment where College players will have to opportunity to train and compete at a high level during the Summer in preparation for the upcoming Fall season.
In addition, the affiliation with local NPSL member, Hartford City FC, will raise the competitive level in every aspect and provide a unique opportunity for visibility in a semi-professional setting. (complete details below)
OAKWOOD SC U23 MEN'S PROGRAM
THE COMPETITIVE PLATFORM
The Northeast Academy League (NEAL) U23's main objective is to further strengthen the professional and collegiate pathways for elite level players in the Northeast. The league is formed by the leading clubs of the region, primarily MLS Next members. The competition will take place between May and July, and will facilitate the professional and collegiate pathways for top talent during the summer period. This coupled in concert with NEAL’s strategic relationship with MLS Next will provide the platform players require to advance their development opportunities through the highest level, best in class playing environment.
THE PATHWAY
Oakwood SC and Hartford City FC are working in conjunction to promote a world class training environment for the top College players in the area. Oakwood SC U23 Players and Hartford City FC will share the same training grounds and coaching staff following the same philosophy, coaching methodology, and style of play. In addition, Oakwood's U23 players may also be given the opportunity to be rostered with Hartford City FC for NPSL games.
