Oakwood Soccer U16 Academy Wins Northeast Division Championship 2015-16



Today, after 26 matches, Oakwood Soccer Club U15/16 team has clinched the regular season Championship for the US Soccer Developmental Academy Northeast Division for 2015-16. Oakwood defeated Albertson by a score of 3-0 in its final match of the season. This remarkable achievement has Oakwood finishing first ahead of both MLS (professional clubs) Montreal Impact and New England Revolution. Oakwood will now prepare for the Academy playoffs in Frisco, TX, June 22-26 featuring the top 32 Academy team across the USA. This also marks the 4th consecutive year Oakwood has qualified for the Academy playoffs. Head Coach Kevin Bacher was thrilled with the 3-0 win to end the regular season, stating, “We have worked very hard since August to compete in the Academy league and to play to a high level, finishing on top of the table after 26 matches is a great honor for the players and club.
