Oakwood Soccer Club, Inc.

The Oakwood Soccer Club, Inc. is a non-profit premier youth soccer organization directed by Rick Derella and Dave Farrell. Oakwood S.C. provides an advanced program of coaching and competition to help student-athletes reach the highest level of soccer and academia. The Oakwood coaching staff, consists of Nationally renowned coaches including National and Regional staff members, former professional players and former Oakwood players.

Since 1989, Oakwood has won 4 National Championships, 24 Region I Medals, and 82 StateChampionships In the process, Oakwood teams have defeated opponents from 35 states and 13 countries. Oakwood has produced 25 All-Americans, 20 National Team Members, and 28 Professional Players. Oakwood currently has 24 teams, which compete in the US Soccer Developmental Academy League, US Club Soccer Pre-Academy League, Region I Premier Leagues, and the Connecticut State League in the fall and spring. In the winter, all teams train and compete in the Oakwood Indoor Soccer Leagues. The club also hosts the Oakwood Premier Invitational Outdoor Soccer Tournament in Greater Hartford, CT over Memorial Day weekend. The event attracts 175 teams from as far as Minnesota, England, and Argentina.

In 2007 Oakwood was selected to become a member of the US Soccer Developmental Academy as one of the Nation’s top 64 soccer clubs. The Oakwood U - 16 and U - 18 Academy teams play in the highest level of league play in the US. A 30 game national schedule features opponents such as: N.E Revolution, D.C. United, New York Red Bull, Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas. Every League game is scouted by a National Team staff member.

All Oakwood teams train and play their home matches at the TD Bank Oakwood Soccer Park in Portland, CT, just 7 miles from the Oakwood Sports Center. The complex features 2 state-of-the-art, full-size (115x72), artificial fields both with lights. The Soccer Park will also include a full-size grass field and other amenities to be developed at a later date.
